New Three Gene Male!

Can't stand it any more! I am going next Saturday to pick up a new 2012 three gene male from Tim Bailey. Tim has been a good friend for a long time and knew I have been wanting one of these. Well he is letting go of an older one and wanted to know if I wanted it, Of course I jumped at the chance. So here he is, via Tims cell phone pic he sent me while half in shed if I remember right. My 2012 Lemon Pastel Hidden Gene Woma Granite male.

I've already got an Ivory female and a lesser female waiting for him to get out of QT to breed Hoping for some Infernos and Soul suckers. :D

It has to do with the stripe right behind the neck. See how it's all busted up that's a sure fire sign of a Granite.

I'm still not sold on the whole granite thing with regards to the hgw thing. But that snake is pretty neat. I would love to add hgw to my collection. Cool pickup!

Ed answered some of the question, but another dead give away are the black dots in the eye stripes. I have hatched some Hg Womas that don't have it.

I have long ago dropped using the Granite name with most of my Hg Woma stuff. However, with that said, I definitely think it is in there, and very difficult to seperate from the Hg Woma gene. Ed mentioned one of the markers, and I just referenced another above. I have been producing this stuff for three years, and have hatched probably somewhere around 80-100 babies from my Hg Woma projects. With that said, I think I have only seperated the gene once. It is wat I am calling a Pastel Granite. She is somewhat difficult to photograph, but definitely very different from any other Pastel I have hatched.

I have a question. There is genetic variability in every morph. There are super reduced pastels and some super busy ones. There are some super bright ones and ones that are barely distinguishable from normals.

Why can't the granite thing just be genetic variability?

Seems as tho recently all those differences that are seen are "genes". I feel like people are grasping at straws for the next huge morph and all these subtle differences get labeled as genes. I feel like that's what the granite thing is with the hgw stuff. Just genetic variability. With that in mind, I don't have any in my collection so this isn't from first hand experience. It's just from talking to some people and reading forums and what not. I'm happy to be proven wrong but as it stands, hgw granites are just busy hgw in my book.
