BP soaking a lot - no mites
Hey guys my BP has been soaking completely alot recently but close examination reveals no mites. She is in a rack where the room temp is about 75 and my ve-100 thermostat is set to 94, is that too low?

If she's soaking a lot and has no mites, she may be trying to hide (lack of security) or she's too hot.
the temp gun was picking up about 85ish on top of the bedding in the hot spot so i increased the thermostat to 98 and ill check again later

mites can't always be seen with the naked eye. and 98 is too hot.

How thick is your bedding? There shouldn't be that much of a temp drop.

Anywhere your snake can touch is important.

half an inch about, im getting about 87 on the bedding and 95ish on the tub

What is the humidity in the enclosure? Do you have a hide on both sides of the enclosure? Cool and hot? You should check the top of the bedding, because that is where she is going to be. And I second alykoz. You can't always see mites. They start out very tiny. Try running a white paper towel along her body and then looking at that. If you see itty bitty (and I'm talking like dandruff size) dots moving, she has baby mites that are only going to get worse. But if she doesn't have mites I'm guessing something is wrong with the heat or humidity.

That seems like a big drop to me...you could try thinning out your substrate even more. The problem is if the snake burrows and get in direct contact with the tub it could get burnt that way especially with it cranked up to 98...also like someone had already said, I was only able to see adult mites on my BTS, I was told that babies aren't visible to the naked eye...
