Yeah, the problem is the channel has yet to reach critical mass. It's pretty much just led, maarken, and me there all the time. If you download a real IRC client, like mIRC www.mirc.com, it's easy to just leave it open all day long, which is what we do. The problem with most people is they come and leave a minute later. I for one will check the chat only a few times an hour, to see if anyone's active, and then respond accordingly.

Anyway, if you need help installing and configuring mIRC, just connect through the web applet and I'll walk you through it in realtime, once I notice you around. The key is to have a little patience; with forums, you wait a few hours. With IRC, you wait a few minutes when it's dead, or only a few seconds when it's active.

I know everyone would rather way for the room to fill up first, and then start coming around, but if everyone thinks like that the room will never grow. So, suck it up, install mIRC, and come hang out!!!

You guys just arent there at the right times ;). I'll be glad to help anyone with installing an IRC client as will hhw. We're always looking for more people to hang out .. you just gotta stay longer than one minute ;). If you are using the chat applet you may want to open it in a new window or tab ( depending on what browser you are using ). That way you dont accidentally click another button on the site and loose chat :).

Snakes in the news ... somewhat bad press
The more people that are in there at any one time .. the less times we dont have discussion ;)

Also, Trillian from Cerulean Studios is a great program that will connect to all the major instant messaging services (AIM, Yahoo, MSN, ICQ) and IRC and allow you to use all of them through one simple interface.
