Did NERD pull down their videos?
What I'm finding has been made private. Something up?

    i guess its youtube.

like, for example: an update to the content ID system causes it to trigger due to background music in 3 NERD videos, which causes strikes on the account, which causes a suspension, which then takes weeks to fix because the only thing youtube does overnight is the 100% automated stuff.

or some trolls got together and flagged some videos as inappropriate, leading to a quite similar automated response from youtube. automated takedowns take effect instantly, getting a human being to review what happened takes weeks.

i would assume its youtube issues until NERD puts out a statement that says otherwise.

Very interesting. I was trying to pull something up to show someone and couldn't believe I couldn't fine any of their stuff. The loss of all those vids would be tragic.

or, for example, lets say you already have one strike against your youtube account. now because of some nonsense copyright problem or a false flagging (sometimes people just flag them as animal cruelty and noone really checks) you get a second strike. the third strike could destroy your channel, so the careful way to do it is to set all videos to private, preventing a third strike, until you manage to get one of the older strikes reviewed and repealed. when you are back down to one or zero strikes against your channel, you put the videos back online.

stuff like that really happens A LOT, even famous people like Richard Dawkins or the Pope or famous musicians are not immune to such youtube channel problems.

lets hear an explanation from NERD. but im 90% sure we will get something like "we are currently having some problems with youtube and had to temporarily take down the videos and we hope we can soon resolve the issue and put the videos back online", something like that, with more or less detail. do they have a second backup channel on vimeo or something? maybe its time to set up a backup.

i dont think the videos are lost. we will get the youtube channel back, or it pops up on vimeo, or we get a download location, or they put the videos on their website, or something. i think worst case is that the comments are lost and we get an alternative, at least it says "video is private" and not "this account has been suspended", which to me indicates they are dodging one of those bullets that just tend to fly around on youtube.

Did anyone ever figure out where the NERD videos went? Is there a place to still watch them?

Yeah when I saw the videos were down i was wondering if they may have removed them to try and get people to buy the new "morph maker" book... probably not, but I bet a lot of the ball pythons in the videos are in that book. I hope to get that book one day, but I do miss the videos they were some of my favorite BP videos.

It could have something to do with the falling out between Kevin and Raphael (not sure on spelling). They did them together so who knows.

Wait, Kevin and Raphael had a falling out? Do you know what the issue was? I didn't know that, they seemed to be good friends.
