I'm waiting on one, this guy is from a 100% het clown x fire pairing but the seller is unsure if he is a fire or not so trying to get opinions. I shall try to get another picture.

Possibly, but it's no where near the quality of the second one you posted if it is.... potentially darker color, no blushing...

I suppose that it COULD be a fire, although I doubt it. If it is then it is a pretty poor example of how the mutation is capable of making gorgeous snakes. I think that a good rule of thumb to follow is that if you cannot tell if it is a morph then it is not a snake that you should be wasting money on. I would pass on it either way. To be honest, I would also pass on the fire that you are buying and look for a better example of one (unless of course they are just pets, but even when I buy a snake that is just a pet I only want the best example of any given morph).

The snake in question is being sold as a normal, the seller said that he could be a poor example of a fire but she was pretty sure he was a normal. I was asking only to get another view on him :) I'm buying the normal for my little sister as a way to get her interested in the hobby although he will be living with me in essence as she's not old enough yet to be responsible with this type of animal. Both are going for a ridiculous price over here and for pets I wasn't going to turn them up :)

You need a belly shot. A fire will have a clean belly and usually some tracking along the sides toward the rear that resembles that of a het pied. This is NOT a 100% indicator that it is a fire, BUT if there is any spotting on the belly, that's almost a sure bet that it ISN'T a fire.

That snake does have a case for being a fire, but I'd definitely request a belly shot.

He's being sold as a normal so when they arrive on Thursday I'll grab a belly shot and post it :) I'm pretty certain he is a normal but I'll see when he get's here.
