Weird behavior for the first time

I have had my BP for about seven years. He has been in his recent enclosure for about four, a 36x24x18. Its a glass terrarium so humidity and temps are a pain to keep and fluctuate a lot, this hasn't changed for the life of him. This has lead to good sheds and bad, nothing new. About two months ago after a bad shed he has gone into a no eat mode. This is the first since I have had him that he refuses his weekly meal. Now entering his third month he refuses food and is overactive every night. His temps are the norm, 90-92 hot spot, 82 ambient, 65 humidity. Oh and he hasn't lost any girth, he's still plump, any ideas, I am worried for this is the first time I've had a problem, any thoughts would be great thanks.

BPs are well known for hunger strikes and it is more unusual not to have one than to have one so I wouldnt be to worried, the shed can also be bad sometimes and again it is not something to worry about, it could be down to food size so what is your bp eating?

Recently he's been eating small rats, two each feeding. I heard about pythons hunger strikes but it caught me off guard he waited seven years for it, he has never done it before.

My one big male is doing the exact same thing, its been 9 weeks with him not eating. I believe it is completely normal due to the fact that this is the breeding season. Males only have one thing on their mind, an its not food I you catch my drift. Wink Wink.

92 kinda sounds high. Do u keep it at that all year round or do u lower and up temp during summer and winter? I noticed my boys ate better with a temp of 88 during winter and 90 in summer. Could just be s stubvern snake tho. Lol. One of mine just got done with a hunger strike of two months. Stressful times. Lol. Just keep offering food. He will take it when he's ready. As long as he foesnt drop a lot of weight fast there shouldn't be a problem.

yea he's plump as ever, i think I will try getting the temp a little lower, his glass terrarium is a beast to get temps righ. I appreciate all your advice thanks.

Yup, just keep an eye on his weight and continue to offer food. He's definitely well established, so it could just be seasonal. Best of luck!
