Okay, it has been a month now, so I am totally cleaning out Jub Jub's enclousure. I bought a rubbermaid and an UTH pad so I will house him in there while I am cleaning and drying the other tank. I have been using rubbing alchol regularly with a sponge on the wood stuff (hide, and climbing log) this time I am setting them in a small puddle of alchol to really soak, then drying outside for about an hour, then rinsing and soaking with water, and reapeat rinse and soak. I am also going to use a bleah water solution (10 to 1) for the tank and the non-pourous materials then rinsing thouroughly and drying for about a day.
When I had jubs out for a short time last night (didn't seem too active) it seemed like his eyes were slightly getting cloudy. Didn't notice his belly getting pink, and today is his feeding day. Going to see if he will be active tonight, or if there are signs of him shedding more (i.e. when I move him to the substitute tank). But, I have a question, when can I feed him if he is starting his shed? Should I even try tonight if I know he is starting a shed or should I wait until he is completely done?

If his eyes are cloudy(blue), you should wait. If not, it should be fine.

I always wait until after my guys/girls shed before feeding them. I dont want to cause any undue stress in a very vulnerable time for them. Having said that, i know some people do feed in shed. Its really up to the keeper, i just try to avoid the extra stress.

I've never had a problem with mine eating unless their eyes are cloudy.

Same here, Balls have bad eyesight anyway but I think the cloudiness frustrates them when trying to feed. I stick to a once-a-week schedule, every so often moving the days back a little so Ruby doesn't get overweight or too used to feeding on a set schedule.

Okay, tank is all clean...he is back in it now. I tried feeding him tonight and he refused. So, he must be getting ready to shed. I added moss into his tank, and am misting a lot more to keep humidity around 70 or so.
Just for the shed that is.
