    What's wrong
Hi. I recently got a 2 and a half old speckled king snake. I went to feed today and it struck and constricted. After the mouse passed it ate it and got it almost half way down. Then used his body to hold the body of the mouse and pull it back out of it. What does this mean. I have it in an Exo Terra medium low on aspen thermostat is set to 86°f on warm side and between 72°f and 75°f on the cool side. I believe that is correct.

Strange. I'm guessing the snake either sensed there was something wrong with it, got spooked/realized he wasn't hungry, or it was too big. How big was the mouse and how big is the snake? If this is an isolated incident, I'd guess it is just that. If it happens again, I'd be more concerned.

How long have you had the snake? How old is it, 2 and 1/ 2 years?

I just got it. It's the first feeding. I just treated it for mites.

What did you use to treat it for mites, and how exactly did you treat it?

I used mite off on cage and reptile spray for the snake. This was 3 days ago
