Was the rat I fed to big?

I posted this in my other thread but it wasn't getting any attention so I thought I would make a new one just for this. Sorry I don't know how to delete my other thread but it can be deleted now.

Cant see any pics!

Here is what I do. For hatchling BP's they normally start on rat pinkies/fuzzies for me, just depends on their size. After 3 feedings of that they go to rat pups.

However I don't have ones that eat mice so I couldn't tell you about switching from them because it's a case by case thing. I also can't see any pictures.

Sorry I have no idea why the pictures didn't show up, I'll try again, let me know if they work.

First, threads can't be deleted. Just be patient, this is a very active site. You would have gotten answers. No need to duplicate.

It does appear the rat was a tad to big. But your snake should be fine as long as husbandry/temps are right. I would just offer proper size next time.

Sorry to duplicate, I was just really worried about him, hes my first snake and I just want to make sure i do everything right. So should I still feed him next monday, when I usually feed him, or should I give him a few extra days since it was big?

You could wait an extra day or two to be safe. It won't hurt him to wait.

If you're not sure on eyeballing them yet, get a scale and weigh them. Descriptions vary and uncertainty can inject itself (my snake is the size of a golf ball...no a tennis ball...maybe a soda can?...the rat is not very big...kinda small...a couple of inches long, but it's not very wide...it has a long tail...it looks like it would probably fit).

But if you know the snake weighs 150g and the rodent weighs 20g it's good to go. It removes some uncertainty, and once you do enough feedings, you'll quickly learn to eyeball the food better.
