Herpstat 2 and an Animal Plastics T8 - Thermostat setting?
I have my new T8 all set up, and I am working on getting the temperature and humidity just right. Can anyone give me a good starting place for a temp setting on the thermostat? I'm eager to get my babies in, but want everything to be perfect. Thanks!

I have mine set at 82 or 84. I'm on vacation for a few weeks and can't check now so I can't remember exactly but I believe it's 82. That gives me ranges of 84-91ish in the enclosures. I have two T8s on a herpstat 4 with this setting. I dangled my probe from the ceiling just off the top of the substrate. Set it around that range and see what temps you get with your temp gun. Adjust a degree or two as needed.

thanks, Marissa! I have my probe under the flexwatt, so I imagine it will take some time to get it right. So excited to have it all put together!!

Mines set up under the Flexwatt on the outside of the cage also. The room is heated but I still have to run the Herpstat at 100 to get a hotspot of 90-92 for the boa. It takes some tampering but you'll get it. :)

Oh dur. I just without thinking assumed radiant heat panel since that's what I have. Doh. Sorry. In that case, set to 90, see where that gets you and adjust. That's how I do it when I have to use heating pads.

Thanks, this was what I needed. I can see that I need to set it higher, but wasn't sure how high to go. I've been going up a degree or two...I am WAAAY off right now. Thanks again...this really helps.
