I swear she is a weirdo. She had a jumbo mouse a few hours ago and when I go to give her fresh water she comes out and says hi. Usually I thought she would do this to be like, okay I'm ready to eat now. But I don't think she's hungry.. now I'm just thinking she's a curious little thing. it's kinda scary sometimes though haha I'm not gonna lie. at first she's all strike mode until I pet her and she calms down. she just LOOKS scary and then when you realize she doesn't care about biting you, it's like awh she's just bein a cutie hahah. Anywaysss does anyone else's BP act weird like this?

You mean trying to escape? Oh yeah, definitely. They're little escape artists.. If you make it easy for em, well.. The rest just falls into place. I see it a lot. My little guy on the other hand is pretty lethargic most of the time haha

I don't think it is "weird" behavior, really. My spider comes out every night and watches me when I'm near his QT tank. What a gorgeous girl, btw!

If you think thats scary wait until she gets up to size to breed and its breeding season. They are so hungry that as soon as you open the cage they will throw a strike if they see the heat from your hand

I've got one that explores all the time. If she sees movement in the room, she has to be moving, too. She actually got out of her setup the other day while I was working with some of my other bp's. I noticed her slithering her way across a statue and a stack of DVD's.

Yeah she does roam around her tank at night and searches every single nook and cranny and I actually did think she was just trying to escape at first but she literally came like right in my face to smell me and look at me. we shared a moment... lol

I actually feed my girl outside her tub in a seperate tub (yes I know most people on here will disagree) but call me crazy, I think she's smart enough to know biting my hand won't help anything. But I can see that happening if she mistakes me for a mouse and I actually am pretty scared of when she gets huge but I will conquer my fears! haha

Out of my 17 BP's in two racks, 15 of them will stay in or dive for their hides when you pull the tub out. The other two, a female normal and male mohave, will pop out, check out your hand, and climb up your arm if you let them. The only time they really use their hides is if they've eaten recently and want belly heat. Those are my two BP "ambassador snakes" since they not only tolerate being handled, but actively seek it.
