Any Authors part of the forum?
I like to write. I think I'm good, but I'd really like to get some outside advice from someone with real experience on how I should proceed in my endeavor. Any advice is welcome, this is my favorite forum so I thought I'd throw it out there! Thanks in advance!

Best advice I can give is write, write and write some more. I used to do a lot of recreational writing, but now I run a website that I write for multiple times a week. It's all about knowing who you are writing for, I think.

If you want to know if your writing is any good, and also get valuable feedback on how to improve, there are numerous writer's groups available online. I have belonged to several over the years. Which one will be a good fit for you will depend on what kind of writing you do (sci-fi, mystery, etc) and also your personality, how much time you can commit, etc.

Just one example is Critique Circle. It is pretty big and active and accepts a wide variety of styles of writing, so it might be a good place to start.
