Our local reptile place got in a Malaysion Blood looks like he is young but still very good sized I would estimate him at a year old. He is very nippy, a guy at the place got him out for me and he bit him twice while holding him.

My question is do they calm down? Or are these guys just real cranky all the time.

Each and Every snake has its own personality.

Hehe - our brongersmai will hopefully keep their trend of calming down advancing. It's really hard to predict whether any particular one will tame down well or always be a spitfire, but the Reds do have a rep and it is not entirely unfounded especially as compared to the Borneos and Black Bloods.

Our youngerst red is still universally cranky, the female used to be that way but now pretty much just acts defensively when she feels threatened. Our black blood - man he'd lick your face if he could he's such a sweet puppy.

I think I'll be getting a black blood python, once I finish up college.
