Desperately seeking Susan ...

Her name was prophetic. Yesterday my daughters called me at work to let me know that Jess had accidentally not completely closed the top of the little geckos' enclosure. They found Waldo on top of Carmen and Sandiego's enclosure, then later found Scooby next to the fish tank, but so far Susan hasn't shown her little face.

Until she shows up, or for a few days anyway, we're keeping Buddha in the backyard when he can't be supervised and keeping Jezebel in Jessica's room. I hope she shows up soon! She's one of my two prettiest, I think, and I have been looking forward to seeing her offspring.

Aw, that sucks! I hope you find her soon!! At least you found most of them...she'll turn up I'm sure.

Thanks, y'all! I sure hope she shows up. We looked all over the room for her last night and this morning, and of course the kids looked while I was at work yesterday. I sure hope she shows up!

Susan showed up this morning. Unfortunately, by the time she showed up, she was an ex-gecko. She was very skinny and apparently hadn't found any of the food I'd been putting out for her (sometimes it's hard to see if a gecko's eaten, so I wasn't sure), but I don't know if that's what killed her, since when I found her she was lying on the carpet right in front of Jezebel. She was unmarked with no wounds that I could see, but it could be that the cat scared her to death in her weakened state. Anyway, Susan is no more and that wasn't the best way to start Jessica's birthday.

oh no! i'm really sorry. that's a really awful way to find one of your pets. :( poor jess, she must be feeling terrible. i hope she can have somewhat of a happy day for her birthday regardless. my condolences to you both. :cry:
