Lesser male from BEL x Africa
Hello there. I recently got myself a lesser male that's made from a lesser bel x africa female. He's a little bit..funky looking.
Can you people take a look and tell me if he really looks like a lesser? All babies from the bel looks like this, I've been told.

This is my guy, he is one year old:

He almost look granite like with those little dots, is that possible? o.o The breeder I got him from promised me to look it up, to try and see which parent he got them from and see if he could find pics of the BELs parent if possible, I'm going to call him tomorrow to see how that went.

As a future side project I might try and get an adult granite female for him to try and prove that out....a super granite lesser would probably look awesome.

The color is very unusual for a Lesser. It's super silvery. It has a reduced lesser pattern, but the color looks very bamboo-ish.

Can you get pictures out in the sun light?

Ah, so the silver color wasn't just my imagination, I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought so. :) And yeah, I'll take a few pics of him today in sunlight.
He is very interesting though. I have paired him up with my bumblebee female, will be very interesting to see what will come out from that pairing.

My original though was that he might be a lesser, with something more like granite or something, that makes his color a bit off. Then again, you never know with those africa females, could be anything o.o She looked normal, but her color was a bit off, kinda like this guy.

Check out the Bamboo morph. I'm not saying you have one, but the color is very similar.

It's true that they are both silver based, but the bamboo has a very distinct fading from the bottom and up. If combined with the lesser gene that normally fades colorations in morph combos from the bottom, then I'd imagine that he would have more fading on him?

He is warmer color than axanthic, but more silver than normal lesser o.o

The only lesser combo I can find with the right coloration is Ghi lesser, but that one is also super fade type of coloration. The color is almost right if compared to my buy, but my male has sharp pattern, not a blurry one. Will be very interesting to see what kind of offspring he will give.
I got him in order to try for some queen bees, hope I can still get them, and that their color isn't too dark because of his silver coloration.

No matter what though, as long as they are healthy little babies, I'm sure I will love them :)

He looks quite different from what lessers usually do. But i must say he is a looker :)

Yeah, it will be fun to see what happens in his offspring and how they will look. If I see some babies with the silver look, and some without, then I can say for sure it's two genes, lesser and something else.
I'm going to assume it's not, but I'd be delighted if he proves me wrong! xD

Little worried though that his greyness might not be the best combo for bumblebees, since they should have clear, bright, warm colors, and he is a...dull? Grey/silver color. I'm worried he might give me bumblebees and pastels that brown out more quickly, but we'll see.

He is my first lesser, and I hadn't looked into them so closely before, so I didn't react much to his color at first. I put him with my bumblebee because I really want me a queen bee :D I might not have put him with that female if I had noticed this before though, I don't know really. It's my first breeding season so I'm still learning, and was so happy I could aim for queen bees and all. :)

I also have a butterfire male, but he is born this year and still so tiny xD He is with my spinnerblast female though, climbing all over her, so I hope he might make it! He is tiny, 200grams or so, he refused food in the beginning so it's only now that he is growing like weed.
I had completely given up on him for this season, but his flirting with that female gives me hope!
