    My first carpet python
So finally got me a carpet python. Its a striped coastal carpet and i cant wait to get him. Won him from ben siegels reptile auctions for $80. Just a quick qustion though are coastal carpets a smaller species of carpet? I dont care either way i wanted a carpet. IF it is a smaller species thats ok just means ill still have to pick up a jungle carpet

Coastals are the larger Carpets sub species.

Coastals can get up to 11 or 12 feet i believe, those are probably big females and not generally the norm though.

    Congrats on the purchase.

I would expect a male coastal to get a good 7ft possibly 8. Here is the link to Peterson Reptiles. Never heard of him but he has some good looking stuff.

Edit: You got a good looking little guy there. Just remember, Carpets are slow growers and over feeding them can cause them to look disproportional.

I like your little guy. Ben always seems to get in nice carpets of all sorts. I would expect 7-8ft, and like was said he'll take at least 5 years to get there.

yep. coastals are the largest carpets. 7 to 9 feet is a realistic expectation. congrats. you are gonna love that thing. carpets are the best. everybody should have one....or 7....
