Sealing spaces in a Vision cage

I have a Vision 211 cage for my two month old BP. If anyone is familiar with this cage, there is a substantial ledge above and an overhang below the sliding doors, where my ball has been hiding. When he's on the top ledge, he's completely out of site and I have no real way to reach in and get him off. He has also been burrowing under the substrate and hiding under the lower overhang. I found this out the other day when I searched the entire cage and couldn't find him. I thought he had gotten out, but then noticed a very small burrow hole. When I moved the substrate there he was, totally under the gap below the sliding door. I've since filled in the gap with substrate, but he'll move that if he wants I'm sure.

Here's my question...does anyone suggest a way to possibly seal these two openings so that he can't get into them? Maybe someone who has a similar cage? I thought about using foam sealant, but that may be too industrial or toxic. Once he's older and larger he won't be able to get into them as easily, or at least I'll be able to get at him more readily. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks!

Ok, here is the top gap. It's just above the sliding doors. It's about an inch and a half tall and an inch deep.

how exactly is it a problem?

i mean, why not let the snake do it? it doesnt appear to be dangerous.

I have a "showcase" cage that has an even larger top gap. I used "great stuff" expanding foam. It's used for sealing windows, and can be found at any hardware store. You only have to fill the gap halfway and it expands to fill the remaining gap. I let the cage air out for a few days before introducing the snake into it.

I use similar foam at work and it expands like crazy if u over use it..the foam is a great idea..but water proof silicone is great...a little trick after you apply silicone,wet your finger or weta a rag and run it smoothly along the silicone and it should leave a damn near perfect seal,nice and neat

You can find foam for sealing gaps between window style AC units...they have some at lowes that is 1 1/4 inch think and comes in I think 3 feet. It fits in the gaps perfectly

I think the problem here could be if the BP got sick and it was in this spot and couldn't be reached? That was my instant presumption. There is no harm in filling it so I think rather safe than sorry to eliminate something which could potentially be a risk in some people's minds. I think it would help with peace of mind also. As OP stated they thought the BP had gotten out of it's enclosure too. :)
