Are Jungle Carpet Pythons good pets?
Hello,
I have a ball pythons, corn snake, California king snake, and a red tail boa,so I know how to care for these beautiful creatures :) i'm looking for a new snake species to get into, and the jungle carpet pythons stand out the most because of there beauty!! Only concern is that I heard they are aggressive, which is fine with me, but I have little ones that come over a lot that absolutly LOVE my snakes, I would hate for them to get tagged and become terrified of snakes. Can they be tamed down like Ball pythons? Also, are they good eaters? Whats the best way to tame one down the fastest? Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Thats great to hear! What do you do for there cages? As I heard they LOVE to climb?

They are what you might call the synthesis of Morelia viridis and Python regius, phenomenal display but also a very handle-able animal that seems to enjoy being out and about at times. I bought a yearling high yellow jungle in 2010 from the store I worked, beautiful animal, went through quarantine with no problems, he was a beautiful 5ft and I had him set up in a 55-gallon display tank. Later on he died idiopathetically after just two months out of quarantine, he was being treated for a reoccurring RI and he just did not make it. Necropsy could not find anything besides the RI which was agreed to be too mild to cause death in his condition, the only thing I can think of is after years of line breeding, you have that occasional specimen born with an incomplete immune system that puts out for a year or two but then it's just over. Caging is pretty straight forward with most specimens being terrestrial to semi-arboreal, I have notice jungles and IJs tend to be most apt to climb. I would start a baby out in nothing bigger than a 66qt tub. I miss my little guy, good luck, its a great species complex.
