    Putting weight on a baby
I have had monty for almost a year and he is only 220ish grams. He pounds adult mice. Every 5-7 days. How can I get his weight up? Thanks.

    Put him on rats :gj:

Has he had any vet checkups in that time? even for a male, that is tiny.

At 220, he should be on rat pups. Basically the key is to go just large enough for the prey item to leave a noticeable bulge in his tummy. Some people go by a weight percentage of 10-15% of his body weight, but I found that my normal was plateauing every 50 grams, rather than growing at a steady rate. So now she's on smaller mediums once every 10 days. It really depends on where you see results!

but pick up a rat pup first and see if he'll take it.

Also, follow up on the vet question?

The reason I ask is that a snake eating that regularly should be larger, regardless of prey size. there could possibly be a parasite at play. It doesn't sound likely, if he's a voracious eater, but I wouldn't rule it out.

I don't know if the snake would do much growing if he outgrew his prey...
I would try the rat pup, and if he won't take it try two mice
