Yay!!!

Monty finally ate!! Had him for 9 days now. Tried to feed him F/T mouse on the 6th day & he wanted nothing to do with it. Today I went & bout 2 live mice. He took the 1st one very quick. We offered the second one as soon as the first was down, it took him a few minutes, but he took that one too! The whole process took about 25 minutes. how are you controlling humidity now?

Misting once a day. Have a towel covering 90% of the screen. Obviously I need to mist a lot more. When I mist, how wet should I be getting the substrate? And should I be mixing it up to get the bottom stuff too? Or just the top?

Not saying you should or can do the same but I have my snakes in tubs on paper towels. I do a stream of water along the out side of each hide, the paper towel soaks the water up and keeps great humidity inside the hide, even a day later after doing so I can lift the hide and see condensation on the under side of the hide. this leaves me doing a stream of water about once every 3 days around each hide. I don't have any humidity issues what so ever. in my opinion the best climate control for bp's is in plastic totes as you would find in a rack system. even if I did not have a rack I would probably house my bp's in the same bins.

Always nice to see them eat.

I'm not a fan of bins. No judgment for those who use them, I just don't like them. I'd rather find ways to improve my current setup. After Christmas I'm switching to a PVC enclosure, so that should help. :) I just need to figure out how to keep him happy until then.

Just continue misting and and using the towel till you get your PVC cage. Do you have a good thermometer in the cage? You can spray the substrate well just let it sorta dry out before you re-soak it again.

I have the Acu-Rite thermometer. I'm also getting an ir gun to be extra sure the temps are all good.

good choice of thermometer.. shouldn't need an IR gun if the acu-rite is placed right in the cage.
