    injecting food
so I have some sick snakes who are stubborn about meds, they wont keep it down. My vet and i decided to try injecting the food with the meds, and I've seen many people saying this is a good idea on ballpython.net. My problem is once the meds are in how do you keep it in? because when i inject the food even the slightest pressure it comes back up, i mean duh they are constricting animals so how will that not happen? but if so many people say it's good it must work, how do you guys give meds to your snakes with food?
    thanks.

We don't inject the food and it's not a conventional antibiotic administration for snakes. Injecting food wouldn't be effective since their metabolism is really slow. It might not even metabolize at all at that stage since it's so slow. And the kidneys might filter it through the system by then.

Inject your snake directly under the skin(sub-cutaneous) or into the muscle (intramuscular). And inject in the front 1/3s of the snake. If it's injected further back, the kidneys could potentially filter it out before taking effect.

You can also nebulize the antibiotics.
