    Stopped cooling due to ri
When I seen a bubble in one of my snakes nostril I turn up my night time temps just after 6 weeks .things are looking good and I think I got to it in time my question is can I turn the temps down again and when or is 6 weeks enough to do the job . My number one rule the snake comes first......

I'd recommend a vet trip to be safe.

I didn't think BP's needed to be cooled for breeding?

    1. I wouldn't and don't cool, it's not needed and it just opens yourself up to RIs.
    2. You could very well need a vet visit to clear up the RI, they are deadly.

I don't let my cool side temps drop below 75 ever. I had RIs when I let them drop to 70 on the cool side, I won't make that mistake again. I haven't had an RI in two years now that I don't drop below 75 *knocks on wood*

If your number one rule is the snake comes first, I assume you have a vet appointment scheduled?
RI's are typically bacterial infections and most do not just clear up on their own.

Cooling is a great way to cause an RI, it's just not necessary.
Let the rooms ambient temp drop to 75 and leave the hot spots alone ...

Why did you drop the temp?

What did you drop it to?

Why would you want to go back to a temp that started problems?

There are still people that do it so I don't doubt that you read it. It's just too risky for me with little to no difference in 'production'.

My sis took her to the vets and he informed her the snake is in good health but said he will take my word I seen a bubble and keeped it over night for ob's . I may of just being seeing things or may have got it early .
so no cooling that's a first everyone I ever asked said its a must. Did read 1 or 2 posts saying it's not needed but 95% said do it. But I'm very happy not to and that's the way I'm doing things from now on ,so big thanks all.
