    My first tortoise
My friend Ryan of MadCity Reptiles had two cherry head tortoise for sale and I just couldn't resist. My little guy was just so adorable I had to pull the trigger. So I added little Albert to my collection this weekend. Isn't he just the cutest.

I LOVE love love red foots! Your cherry head is adorable, congrats! I have a 4-5 year old red foot, they are really social once they get out of that awkward "everything wants to eat me because I'm so small" stage. Mine walks up to me anytime I go out to the yard. She just waddles her way over, it's so cute. :aww:

    Thank you! :)

I really like the leopard tortoises too. I think my favorite is the Indian Star Tortoise. They are really nice as adults. :)

I can't wait for him to reach that stage. I've heard they can be trained and having a little tortoise that comes when called would be the cutest. :D

Grats on the new pickup, torts are great! I have a couple suggestions for the setup though. These are South American torts and thrive in high humidity situations. Cypress mulch is one of the best substrates in my opinion for such creatures. Sphagnum moss is also great when given a quick soak, squeezed out, then stuffed into a hide. I see you're misting, that's good - mist often and liberally. I'd also suggest putting some sort of cover on most of the lid to help trap in as much of that moisture as possible between misting sessions.

I've only had him a few days and I'm already not happy with the repti-bark. Right now I'm misting 3-4 times a day and most of the top is covered and I am still have humidity issues. I will be switching to cypress mulch soon. Thank you for the tip on the moss, I will have to pick some of that up too. :)
