Problem with shedding, should I be concerned?
A few weeks ago i noticed my 4m.o. Was making a wheezing sound and would "yawn" from time to time.
at first I thought it was a R.I. but after close examination I saw that he had a retained shed around his head and the nares were partially occluded.
When I saw that he was going into shed I did what I could to help by soaking and increasing the humidity.
Now last night he shed completely except for the around his head.
He is eating fine and acting normal but I'm wondering what I should do now.
Should I wait for him to see if it comes off at his next shed or should I try and remove it manually?
Thanks for your help.
Re: Problem with shedding, should I be concerned?
Retained sheds were a big problem in many of the BPs I rehabilitated, sometimes they just cannot do it themselves after it's stuck. I always gave them a nice soak in lukewarm water with plenty of shed-ease mixed in and then removed the skin manually...

I suppose that if it didn't come off on this last shed then it's probably not going to come of the next time.
