    Is my BP Crazy?
My female Shyanna will kill the rat, coil, let go then go looking for it while she is laying on it like she cant find the rat. My male Shyman do play around he kill, coils and then starts on the head of the rat. So is there something wrong with Shyannna? She act like she cant find the rat after she just killed it and it will be right in front of her.

So she kills and doesn't eat.? Is she eating it atleast? If so I don't get what the problem is. Now if she's not eating then there is a problem..most people here I'm assuming will ask how's your husbandry.

Maybe she's just sniffing around to see if there's more?

I had one that did this when I first got her. It would take her 15 to 20 mins to find where to start eating.

After a month or so of strange feedings where she ate from the tail end or spent 20 mins looking around for the head that was right under, she figured it out. Your's will, too, I'm sure.

Just give her some time and space for mealtimes. Once she kills it just toss a blanket over her cage and give her some privacy, its no big deal as long as she's actually eating it.

My spider boy is now 4yrs old and still has a hard time finding his meal if he didn't catch it on the nose. He may go around and around for twenty minutes before he finds the head. The wobbles make it hard for him when hes really excited but he does eat. I leave him FT when I can to keep his excitement down

my spider does it too almost every time. kills the rat then stares around the cage like she hears another one running around. she always ends up eating about 15 minutes or so after she lets it go.

    +1

She's probably waiting to make sure it's safe to eat (no predators around).

My Enchi boy does the same thing almost everytime: coils, relases and then does a couple laps around the cage before eating. He's never skipped a meal, but the same silly routine each time.
