    first time doing f/t
So I had bought a live rat late last week and my girl didn't want it. I killed it and shoved it in the freezer so it didn't stink up the house. I am taking the suggestions on defrost and warming. I have it in a ziploc weighted down in warm water. How should I go about trying to get her to take it when its ready? She is acting hungry so want to try this first before I go out in the cold and get a live one. Its kind of frustrating doing something I have never done or thought I would do.

When the rat is fully thawed, palpate the body to make sure the inner core is not frozen. Then blast the rat with a hair dryer to bring it's surface temp up to body temp.
Use tongs or forceps and hold the rat by the scruff. Dangle it relatively low to the enclosure floor and in view of your snake. Use a back and forth sway movement (also known as the zombie rat dance) to get the snake's attention.

Don't jam the rat into the snakes face. That will just scare your snake. Let your snake come up to the prey.

So did the "zombie" dance which was nasty, and she just looked bored and like I was an idiot. So I laid it in her enclosure put the lid on and light and she is investigating and moving it around. I hope she eats it. I really don't want to have to mess with it again lol.
