shOULD I WORRY ABOUT THE REPTILE DESIESE
Well first off, please stop with the caps. And just teach his mom a bit about bps. Tell her that as long as you wash you hands after handling and clean up after the animal (picking up poop and urine) he won't get sick. And make sure he knows what hes doing.

Snakes don't carry diseases at all. They might carry the salmonella bacteria. Always wash your hands before and after you handle your snake and don't just rinse with water use antibacterial soap. This protects your snake and protects you.

Yep...No licking the snake... :) BUt just like Damien said, they can carry salmonella in their poo, so after cleaning or handling just wash your hands, or keep a bottle of Purel around. Easy as that :)

Yeah, bp's shouldn't carry any disease harmful to humans. Unless it's a wild caught snake and has some nasty african diseases or something. But that's easily solved by making sure you get a captive bred snake. Tell your friend to tell his mom that aslong as you get a captive bred snake, you'll be fine. :)

Cody, actually, all reptiles are potential carriers of salmonella, which can be fatal. That's why you should always use an anti-bacterial soap to wash up after handling them or cleaning cages, etc.
Chica, I've asked you before not to shout. It's very rude.
