    heating questions on new rack
I am planning on building my new rack out of melamine. I wont be able to get the heat tape for a couple of weeks but i am currently using uth and heat cables, could i use these for my rack and how would i attach the uth and heat cable. I assume i would put little rubber feet on the bottom of the tubs so the tub and cable doesn't touch.

You wouldn't have to, just make sure you're putting enough bedding in. Just lay it like you would heat tape.

I would do it to the shelf, because the point of the rack is for the tubs to slide easy.

Thats the only problem I see, you would need to the heat pad sticky side up, but that would cause it to stick to the tub. You may need to affix the heat pad to the tub and know that it can't come all the way out.

As soon as you can, I would get the flexwatt or THG heat tape.

I use heat cable on one of my melamine racks. I just taped over it with foil tape. The tubs still slide over quite easy and there isn't a huge gap between the roof and the top of the tub rim. Drill little holes on one side of the rack that are just above the surface where you are running the heat cable so you can go out one level of holes into the next. You will be able to use those same holes when you wire the heat tape. Possibly put a towel on the covering the back side of the rack where your cable is run to help with holding heat.

i am going to have to use my some of my uth's for my rack system. could i apply foil to the sticky part so it doesn't stick to the tub and use foil tape to tape it to the rack?
