Breeding in Tanks?

Hey guys! I have a quick question that I know you guys will be able to help me with :) I'll be breeding a very small pair next season, but my two that will be up to size by then are in tanks and the rest which are small are in a rack system. So I was wondering if I could pair them inside the tanks or should I buy a big tub that I can put them in to breed. Also I was wondering if anyone has ever let their females lay eggs in a tank or should I let her lay her eggs in the big breeding tub? I just want to know now because I'm getting everything ready for next season :) thank you so much for all your help! Love you guys :D

no, seriously, if the husbandry is fine its fine.

You shouldn't have any issues with breeding/laying in a tank. Just be prepared to do a deep clean of the tank when you remove the male (the females tend to dirty the tubs). Also, put the tank in a low-traffic area or cover all the sides. You want to make them feel secure enough to breed.

That said, I used to get feeders from a pet shop who had a breeding pair in a 40 gal tank that bred all the time with only one half-log hide and in a high-traffic area in the pet store.

I would think it would be fine. However, I've seen and heard some pretty rough and tumble things going on in the closed up tub while they're breeding, and to be honest, I would worry they may break or crack a glass tank. Sometimes it sounds like a WWE match going on...I've seen the panels of an AP rack get bowed a bit by a large female twisting and thrashing...

I had 2 breed in a 55gal last year. She never laid but locked 6 times.
