YES ! my mom said i could get another snake for christmas, yeah i know its kinda far away from now but its better than never and plus it gives me PLENTY of time to get and reasearch everything i need to, i was thinking either a older red tail boa (male) or a ball python at the local pet store i have had my eye on, he is about 3 and a half feet long. any tips on which one i should choose ?

The BP at the petstore isn't likely to be there by Christmas so I wouldn't count on that too much. and which kind of snake do you own atm? I'd mix it up, like if you have a BP right now, go for the boa, etc..ya know? have some variety! but Christmas isn't THAT far away so Im sure you'll have everything planned and taken care of, grats btw.

If I was you, I'd find when the next local Reptile Shop would be ...
and convince my mom to get me a snake there.
    Why you might ask?
Well I'm sure theres going to be a show earlier then Christmas and the snakes are shows are EXTREMELY cheap because theres plenty of breeders there selling them.
I was at a Reptile Show in Boca Raton (FL) and a breeder was selling baby balls for 20 dollars a pop.

i duno if the snake i want will be there until christmas but he has been there for a year already, he is one of the big ones and he cost 60 bucks and people would rather just buy a baby and watch it grow and not spend the extra $$ on him.Right now i have one ball python and i think my mom would be more open to letting me get another than getting a differnt snake that would get much larger.I would go to a reptile show but i cant, they dont have ANY in our area and i dont have the money to travel right now . We have a small zoo here they have things like otters, birds ,monkeys and a burm i think, not the biggest zoo ever, anyways they are having a "live snake show" i dont know if they are just going to have a few snakes there for people to see or if they are going to have local breeders selling snakes, its on august 9 so ill go and check it out.

It means that he's saying it's tame as a puppy dog. With all the injuries caused by dogs each year, I think that's a poor comparison, but it's a stadanrd phrase meaning very handleable.
