    Why arent there more Panda Pieds??
    Hello,

    I wonder if we shouldnt be seeing more Panda Pieds this season?
    Is this Morph not able to survive?

    The reason why they're rare is because you're fighting against odds and potential deformities associated with super black pastels.
    Depending on the pairing (black pastel het pied x black pastel het pied for example), it is a 1/16 (6.25%) shot to produce a panda pied offspring in the clutch.
    Using a black pastel pied x black pastel het pied still renders a 1/8 (12.5%) odds to produce a panda pied. Using two black pastel pieds gives a 25% shot.

    Not to mention many super blacks are often culled or fail to thrive due to spinal kinks or facial deformities. So on top of those small odds of actually producing a super black, the question is how many of those actually hatch out healthy?
