My BP likes to dig........

Soooo........ I am not sure if this is normal or not. But my BP roams the terrarium and consistently pushes the substrate around with her face..

I woke up this morning and somehow she managed to make a whole in the substrate going underneath one of her hides. Is she just being exploitative and such or would you classify that as odd?
She even let me watch the other day and she just presses her face into the dirt, almost seems like she is just trying to wedge herself in between the glass and the hide, or maybe trying to escape... haha

Her temps and humidity are good.

Warm Side - 88
Ambient air - 85
Cool Side - 80

Humidity about 45%

I think that's completely common! (I don't like using the word "normal").

Every snake is different. My BP recently started pushing around his substrate after I changed it from aspen to cyprus mulch. He pushes around his hides ALL the time, too. And knocks things into his water bowl, like paper rolls, which soak up all the water... which I don't particularly enjoy.
My other snake, who is a corn snake, digs tunnels quite a bit.

I think that is interesting you don't like using the word "normal". (Because I think normality is simply defined by society) So even though I used it in my statement, I agree!

Anyway though, good to know that it can be common and nothing to be concerned about. I actually just changed my substrate from Aspen to Coconut Husk, so that may have something to do with it as well.
