    Neat Dinker: Pros and Cons
Was just in our local pet store. I haven't been in there in months, because the last time I was there the store was a complete mess and there was very little in the way of proper husbandry going on. But I was in the area today and decided to pop in and take a look, and I was actually pleased with the state of the place; they had lots of space, clean areas, and best of all, they were no longer cohabiting different species due to a lack of space. They even had animals sorted by size into appropriate enclosures, where they had to cohabit animals at all. I was impressed, so I decided to look around.

    Pros

In my wanderings, I located the balls and took a look. There were four of them, all in the 200-300g range. Three of them were normals, but one particular snake caught my eye, and I asked the store owner to allow me to look him over. The snake had some neat qualities: irregular alien heads and patterning, particularly on the neck. There were a few spots along its flanks that were extremely blushed to the point of a pale grey, and coolest of all, the top halves of its eyes were silver. I checked to make sure it wasn't a shedding issue, and they weren't cloudy, just metallic. Very very cool.

    Cons

I checked for het pied tracks, and no such luck, however of course that's not a particularly good telling point. The snake also had some very slight kinking close to the end of its tail, and the owner couldn't tell me if it was an incubation error or a possible genetic trait, although he did offer to get ahold of the breeder for me. I told him not to worry about it for the time being, but if the animal's still available after my next pickup, I may give it a second thought.

I wish I was able to snap some photos, but the store doesn't allow photography, due to people treating the place like a zoo. Cool animal and nice environment, I think I'd need to give the place another visit or two before deciding to take my business there again, but that little noodle has me thinking...

I have a pewter that also has the silver top of the eye. One of the reasons I picked her. Not sure it means anything, but I thought it was neat.

    The Snakery
I love the dual coloured eyes. If you look at the markings on your snakes head, the silver colour in the eye coincides with the light markings on her head...totally normal. If you look closely, there is also a slight silvering at the bottom of the eye as well which coincides with the light markings below the dark face stripe.
