Benny is ready to breed!!!!
My yearling male pastel is ready to breed!
He's put on some great size since the day I bought him, and after talking to a few bp breeders and vendors at the reptile show in my city last Sunday.
Both said that with his size and shape and healthiness, that he is ready to go! All I have to do is check if he is producing plugs, which idk if I'm confident and comfortable with doing myself... I've never popped a snake, let alone checked for plugs..... idk what I'd be looking for, would it be obvious? If someone could lend me some advice, even a how to or video, I'd really really appreciate it!
That's all very exciting news, AND I have more exciting news!
I recently adopted a HUGE assumed male normal BP, this thing is just HUGE. It's 3 years old, 3 feet and 8 inches long, it's as round as a large glass Yankee Candle jar, and just by holding it, I would guess it weighs as much as 5 pounds at least. It's chomping down one large rat every two weeks..... it's just a monster! VERY kind snake to handle though, which really makes me happy. If it is a male, it is definitally ready to go, and if it's a female, I'm certain it would be ready to go as well.... idk how to sex it, probing is the obvious choice, but again, I've never done it, and have no clue on what to look for or feel for..... so, next month, at the local reptile show, I'm getting it sexed. (crossing my fingers it's a girl) but if it's a boy, I'll have another stud male to dinker with..... if it's not a girl, I might want to find a inexpensive cinny or spider female that's either proven or close to breeding size.... OR if you guys have any input on a inexpensive genetic morph female to get, that would be awesome too!

Re: Benny is ready to breed!!!!
Also, you can look into pastel, spider, cinnamon, black pastel, mojave or lesser for your first female. You may be able to score one at one of the shows or even online with a little luck.

Thanks a ton! :D

Yep, been on here for a few years lol. No worries about FB, people have lives. If you are still unsure about popping after you take him to the show, give me a shout.
