Cleaning a ball python cage?

What are the best ways to do this, she is in a glass tank, and I'd like to do a really good clean to get any smell/etc out.

I don't wanna move it into the tub so what are the best products I can use that are animal safe?

I would recommend Chlorhexadine or F10

The procedure:

1. Remove everything from cage

2. Spray down the entire cage

3. Let disinfectant sit for 20-30 minutes (this is very important, don't skip)

4. Wipe up disinfectant

5. Replace substrate with nee clean substrate

6. Replace all other cage items (these can be sprayed down if needed as well)

Both F10 and chlorhexadine are safe to use around animals when diluted properly Chlorhexidine can even be used as mouthwash when diluted enough

Chlorhexidine is cheaper, but F10 is a better disinfectant. Either will do the job.

I would suggest buying Chlorhexadine on amazon, you can usually fine it cheaper there than reptile basics. (1 gallon jug 2% chlorhexidine solution)

Clorhex needs to sit too. Not as long, 10-15 minutes will do.

I have two tanks and I clean them with diluted bleach water and dish soap. Gets glass tanks sparkly clean and completely wipe out any kind of odors. All you smell is clean. Once I do clean it all out if their is a bleach smell lingering inside I wait for it to air out completely before reintroducing my animals. It's nice and cheap since most people already have bleach and dish soap on hand :)

I use a product called wipe-out, made for animal cages. It does smell very strong which kind of worried me at first, but no problems with it.

Me:

-Put snakes into bags.
-Dump out all the coconut husk (I wear a mask when I do this, it can be dusty)
-Clean the tubs using lysol wipes
-let dry
-then I spray each tub with a F10sc solution (approx 8ml:1L of water)
-Let the F10 sit for 15 minutes
-Dry
-While I am doing this I also spray the rack with the same F10SC solution and let it sit for 15 minutes. Then I use a swiffer type of mop to dry the rack shelves top and bottom as best as I can. Then I let it dry (doesnt take long in the hot room).
-Put new husk in
-Put snakes back in

I spot clean daily, and do a proper clean (as above) once a month
