What size prey to feed

I have what I was told is a 7 month old ball python roughly 30-35" in length and im wondering what size prey he should eat
Any input?

You are generally supposed to feed your BP a rat or mouse equivalent to the greatest diameter of your snake. Some BPs (mine ;) ) Won't eat prey that is to large for them, although they will not have an issue eating it if it is smaller.

There are many sizes of rats and mice so just depends on your snake :)

Go with the widest part of your snake. If its 7 months I'd bet the hoppers are too small

Weight is generally a good guideline when it comes to snakes. You generally want to feed 10-15 % of the snakes bodyweight. For example, an 200 gram snake can eat a 30 gram mouse\rat. This is just a general guideline, snakes require different amounts of food depending on their status (breeding, growing, etc).

7 months, hoppers are way to small. My Ghost BP is only 108 grams and like 3 months old and is eating adult LG mice no problems...like people said,go with the thickest part of his body even slightly larger is fine.

Ok i will try to get a scale and weigh hime and then i will go from there thanks for your help
