What is the best hygrometer for measuring humidity besides a Accurite? My remote for my TV had a battery leak from the same batteries I use for my Accurites with my snakes and now I'm worried. I know someone posted a gauge that was more accurate then most battery powered hygrometers but I cannot find that thread. I am going to order probe thermometers from reptile basics to measure the hot spots as well.

Any dial type hygrometer with a metal faceplate and calibration knob will work. These are very different from the junk sold in pet stores that have cardboard faceplates and cannot be calibrated.

These can be hard to find, but they are available. I would post a link but the site I got mine from does't exist any longer.

Look for hydrometers for cigar humidors. Very accurate and can be calibrated. Cigar guys are very particular about this stuff lol

You mean hygrometers... a hydrometer measures specific gravity (relative density)

Would this work? I know the pet store ones are junk. I saw some one post a metal one before that is supposed to be very accurate.

    Looks good.

I suggest you look up the "salt test" this is how you will calibrate your hygrometer.
