feeding response?

I feed most of my snakes live and they all strike right away once the rat is placed in the enclosure, but 1 of them seems to be frightened by the weanlings that are very active and run over her. We fed our snakes yesterday, but the one still hasnt eaten her rat. I leave it in there for most of the day then took it out to go to bed. I just placed it back in her enclosure, and still nothing. She does this every week. How can i make her have a more active feeding response.

First of all, please DO NOT leave a live feeder alone with your snake for that length of time. Nothing good can come from leaving your snake unattended with a live prey item for that long. Just give her a break, you are trying to feed her to often and she sounds really stressed out. Leave her alone for a week with no feeding attempts at all. You can try to feed her a slightly smaller then normal prey item after you have given her time to relax from all the feeding attempts. You may even want to try a f/t or prekilled prey item when you attempt to feed next time.

I also check on her every 15-20 minutes. So she gets stressed every week that I feed her? I have tried f/t with her and she doesn't like those either, she is very head shy so if it at all comes close to her head she coils. Just don't know what to do to help her become more aggressive.

What habitat/substrate do you have her in? mine used to drop feed until i got her settled in her viv with a good 2 hides, plants etc. mimicking her natural environment.

makes a huge difference really. do you warm the f/t food much also?

could try a smaller prey item? sometimes one a day for two days instead of one large..

My bp would rather have 2 small than one large atm lol

I would never leave a prey item in for more than half an hour. And definitely not unsupervised. If she doesn't eat in that time take it out and try again the next week. Leaving it in all day is not a good idea. Try a lil smaller item.
