Is a 50 gallon tank enough?

I was just wondering if a 50 gallon tank would be enough for two full grown ball pythons. I just recently aquired another baby BP and wanted to buy one tank too keep them both in and have that be the last tank I have to buy.

I saw on a website,during feeding, the two snakes had the same mouse,one had the head and the other had the butt and she couldent get them apart and they started consticting eachother so she had to drop them in cold water. I could imagine that that would not be fun.

Avoid housing them in the same cage unless you are in the process of breeding them and then only to acheive copulation.

A baby bp is just going to be super stressed by living with a more grown bp. They'll be competing for the same space, heat, and hides- its just better to house them seperately. I know you probably don't want to spend the extra money on another setup, but theres inexpensive ways to do it, such as a rubbermaid enclosure. Doesn't look at nice as a terrarium, but very functional and easy to maintain.

You will have happier snakes if they are housed seperately.

Well as it is I already have them in two separate tanks the day I was given the new BP I went out and bought everything for it. I'll just keep them separate then I was just kinda planning ahead figuring out how much money I'm gonna need in the future thanks alot everyone for the help.

One more question would a 30 gallon tank be big enough for a fullsize BP or should I go for a 40 or 50 gallon for each of them?

Nary a prob, amigo - here to help. You'll sometimes find folks may seem to react a little stridently when it comes to certain topic such as housing snakes together, feeding live etc - it's almost universally just concern for our limbless buds! Never hesitate to ask them q's!

30 gal should be plenty of space per snake.
You can always use a rubbermaid setup if you want to save some cash.
