Herpstat 2 output?

I am planning on getting a herpstat 2 for the snake rack and incubator. What does it mean when it says 500 output?

500 watts per channel I believe

I don't know what that means. What is output? Does it require something special for plugging it in? The lower Herpstats don't have an "output" listed. Whats the difference?

You can have up to 500 watts per output, I believe it's no more than 900 watts total. So just as an example it would be like 10: 50watt light bulbs max on one output. Make sense?

ok, the Herpstat 2 has a total output of 900 Watts so each outlet on it can handle up to 450 watts. 4" THG Heat Tape uses 6 Watts per foot so each outlet could handle approximately 75 feet of Heat tape. Zoo Med UTHs range from 4 watts to 24 Watts... if that helps any
