    Is my Ball Python O.K?
Hey guys, i have a few questions. Im new but the community here is awesome so far :)
I bought a ball python recently and i want to know is o.k if when i handle him if i don't hold on to him he could easily fall off.
He crawls around for a while and then relaxes and stays in the same area.
He almost never constrict around me unless around my neck, but softly if anything.
Is he O.K? Im concerned about him falling!

I'd keep an eye on it and always be holding onto it. Be safe than sorry. It would suck if it fell.

He's fine. He may just not be large enough to hold on to you correctly.

sounds like a very relaxed BP expecting not to fall.

is he doing "dangerous" maneuvers that could cause a fall while crawling around?

Unless it's a far drop, he's going to be fine. Ball pythons are decent at climbing but rubbish at getting down - their preferred method is just to fall. If you're worried, hold onto him.

Different snakes behave differently. I have snakes that are more than willing to stay around my neck or wrist all day and some that as soon as I pick up will fling themselves out of my hands as fast as they can, no matter how far off the ground they are.

Nope, he usually sticks his head out away from where is laying or curled and sniffs around then just lays there.
I hope cory is right and it gets more confident the bigger it gets :)

Depends on the individual snake almost as much as the species. I have royals that know what's what and I can clean their tubs with them on my shoulders, no worries. I also have some that I basically clean one handed with the free hand ready to catch their stupid butts when they start slipping. Some individuals just seem more aware of the situation and adept at avoiding precarious positions.
