clicking noise?

So we got our first blood 2 months ago, he's very active, eats,sheds. Moments ago my wife calls me,while I'm at work, saying he's making a clicking noise, no mucus, no bubbles. He's currently in a shoebox container, 89.9 is the hot spot with 78 for room temp, humidity ranges from 50-70 throughout the day. Is my setup alright, does this sound like the start of an ri

I would think that in a shoe box he may be uncomfortably warm with that hot spot.. His being "very" active would further suggest this.. Is he himself making this noise or could it be his activity in the shoebox ? I would reduce the hot spot or eliminate it and give the container a rise in the room hoping to shoot for 80-82-3 degrees.. If this can occur you'll likely see a change for the better..IMO..

He's just a little guys and has lots of room in the container, it is him making the noise as I only hear it when I take him out

I second Tim's suggestion.

I keep my hotspot around 83. Any warmer and mine never used it. My four are also never active. They barely move for dinner.

Another possibility for the sound is a up coming shed. Mine will get little pops as they breath when the shed process begins.

K I've lowered the hotspot and he is getting close to going into shed.
