    Ovulation?
This girl is a first timer. She is almost 3000g and will be 3 years old in December. She has been off feed since July/August and has been heat seeking for the last few weeks. Gravid or ovulating? I want your opinions.

I second that if I havent seen any visual locks I would just think ovulation as well. Also if there were locks how long ago were they? There are so many factors that apply.

Looks like it to me. The tail suck is a sign as well.

Last visual lock was about 2-3 weeks ago.

No... you should start the countdown from OVULATION.... not shed... one BIG misrepresented factor about breeding. ~45 days from OVULATION. Forget the shed...

    Good luck.

since shed periods are longer for larger snakes, and shorter for smaller snakes, I count down from the shed period.
I used to start checking for egg laying about day 25 after prelay shed, but have caught a female laying on 22 days after so I start peeking in on the females around day 20 after prelay shed now.
If I went by 45 days after that girls prelay I would have been 10 days late, lol.
