During breeding season do your feeding cycles change?? Do you opt. for larger prey?:snake:

I don't start offering smaller meals until after I'm finished pairing. Once the follicles start to develop, that's when I am concerned about the girth of the prey item, but frankly - most of my females don't eat on their own after they have been paired for a few times. Despite my weekly offers.

Rhodents. i mean, totally, rhodents are the way to go, mostly rats and sometimes mice.
No matter what point in the breeding cycle it is, or what the special conditions are, its always rhodents, generally. of course it varies from tiny mice to fully adult mice, from pinkie rats to fully adult rats. Larger prey is always better, but we stick to mice and rats.

EDIT: a hint: is it just breeding season or do you breed? and if its not just breeding season but you do breed, why did you not change your feeding scedule 7 months earlier, for when they breed they go off feed? Rats and mice my friend.

I up the feedings for breeding females to twice a week if I can during the period right before season starts then back them off to a small or a medium a week until they stop eating and ovulate.
All of my adult snakes get smalls and mediums except smaller males, they typically get weanlings or smaller smalls.

@got_ballz , the OP, coud you enlighten us about the weight of all your male and female breeding BPs and about what pairings you have done recently? How many reptiles do you own in total and how many BPs?
Then we can maybe figure out what is going on. Data will help a lot.
