does he have specter in him?
My 600+ gr pastel poss spector or poss yellow belly.

Got him July 2012 at a retile show. was told he came from a specter yellowbelly pairing, obviously pastel in one of the parents. I have always thought he looked different then my other two pastel girls. He has a deeper black, more granite pattern, and a more highlighter yellow look to him. I've looked at a ton of pastel specters over the past year and I've found dead ringers and some that look nothing like him.
Please tell me one of you can tell me for sure one way or the other on his genetics, even if it's just pastel. this has dirven me crazy for over a year now. :confusd:
Well here's the outside pic from today:

    What was the exact pairing?

    Specter X pastel yellowbelly?
    pastel specter X yellowbelly?

I'm not seeing pastel yb but there's a chance he's a pastel specter going by the striping with black spots in the striping.
Specters make the aliens more block shaped, adding pastel doesn't really change that too much.
Personally I don't see specter in that snake, but they vary so much I wouldn't say for sure it doesn't.

This is one I'm raising that I'm pretty sure is a specter pastel ...

One clue I'm noticing is pastels have very green eyes ...

Thank you for the response SnakesRkewl. When I look at yours and see everything that my boy has with one big difference mine is heavily blushed. I mean from belly up to his back and around to his other side. Also yours has a deeper color, mine is more subdued I think. but the pairing was yellow belly x pastel spector. This may be a dumb question but, what does the carrier of the pastel gene have to do with the thought process in decieding on the genes of my snake? I wouldn't think it would make a difference who carried what.
Again thanks for the responce and maybe this new pairing info will help with the conclution.

It doesn't matter who carries what gene, I was just curious about the pairing.

The blushing is something the pastel brings to the table, yb's and specters in general do not add that feature.
From what I've seen, when you add pastel to a yb complex snake you get the speckling pushed to the outside of the belly so there is little clear white spaces along the edges of the belly.

It really is a difficult combo, I have eggs due in a week from specter X pastel, I hope to gain some more knowledge from the babies.
