    Questions about 2 day expos?
Its not unheard of/unreasonable for you to ask a seller to hold a paid-for animal until the second day correct?

I'm planning on going to the Puyallup Expo next week which is two days and I'm probably going to buy *something* on saturday and spend sunday doing Seattle things because I don't get up that way very often. I figured it would be less stressful to the snake to just pick it up Sunday before four (I'd be leaving four at latest anyways... four or five hour drive home for me) rather then purchase it on saturday and take it to the hotel room, leave alone all day sunday, then drive home and etc.

All depends on the seller, ice had one hold a BP for me for 5 hours while we walked around but ive never stayed overniggt ay a expo bwfore... also, id be very careful with reptiles in the hotel room, I made a joke about it and one of the jorwl workers flew off the jandle. Granted I understand why and it says no rwptiles. Just be careful!

Thats another reason I'm hoping they will hold it until Sunday, so I dont have to even worry about the hotel :)

At the NARBC in Arlington, TX a year and a half ago or so, I was there on opening day Saturday when the doors opened with my heart set on a Pewter BP Male for my collection. Walked right up to Brian at BHB and told him what I was looking for. He pulled out 3 or 4 that he had and I picked which one I wanted but "wanted to look around a little" before I made the purchase. He bagged up the snake and put it under his table for about an hour or so while I quickly walked around and made sure I had the one I wanted. Mind you I hadn't given him any money yet. Came back to him and finished the transaction.

I thought pulling the snake like that and removing it from the sale displays was pretty cool of him to do even though I wasn't 100% set yet.

A friend of mine made a trade with a Breeder at a local show this past weekend and the animal was marked NFS with plans to complete the trade a few days later.

I know breeders like 2 things at Expos. 1) to sell animals to pay for the table and to make money. 2) they love cash.

Good way to come out on top at an expo is to find an animal you like and wait until it is nearly closing time on the last day...offer cash and make them an offer they can't refuse. Works exceptionally well too when the expo wasn't very eventful/slow.

We've never had a problem getting someone to hold an animal we've paid for until the next day.

I can't imagine any vendor who would refuse, especially after you drop cash in his hand.

If you paid for it, I have no issues holding an animal until Sunday. I would have it with me at the show whether you had paid for it or not, so holding until Sunday would never be a problem for me. If you don't show back up and/or get in touch with me, the snake goes back for sale and I keep your money anyway ;)
