    Simple butter combos... Thoughts?
Well here are some thoughts I had since breeding season is approaching. This will be my first attempt at breeding anything. So I have a proven breeder male spider and a female pastel and a female butter. The spider is definitely going to the pastel in hopes of bumble bee.

The butter is the question. I like the looks of butter bees but now the breeder I purchase everything from has a male mojave (young) and a male proven breeder fire.

I am pouring through photos of how these mix with butter and the BEL was always a fav of mine. The fire gene looks interesting too because apparently it gets better with age although adult pics seem to be hard to come by. And of course the butter bee but since I am hopefully making bumblebees it is a very close combo. I am also not sure how much I want to work with more spider stuff. I have one that loop de loops lots already. I don't want half my snakes to be like that. I love him but don't want to chance having a ton of spider wobblers.

So I guess I am looking for a nice two gene combo that has butter. I think BEL wins for me but I would love to hear your favourites too just in case I have missed something really cool.

I'd get the Mojave. I love BELs.

I keep coming back to BELs and I like mojave's too. The fire combos are interesting but some butter fires don't look any better than my butter.

i would go with the Mojave personally. not only will you make nicer animals...I personally will not breed spiders or caramels because of the known issues. I have no problems with people who choose to do so, it is your choice...I just choose not to. I have a female blue eyed lucy and I can tell you that they are still one of the most beautiful animals on the planet.

Just an offer for a male pastel butter. This may be the ticket. 300 for a sub adult. Seems pretty good just waiting for pics and weight.

    a two-gene male is a good choice.

super butter, super lesser, and butter lesser do sometimes have eye issues, but most turn out perfect and for BPs, the eyes are not too important. i just wanted to point out this known issue.

apart from BELs, other genes that i personally think work very well with lesser are: pinstripe, black pastel, cinnamon, enchi. ok enchi is more expensive.

i personally would look for something with mojave, for BELs, or something with pinstripe. but then, jigsaws (mojave + pinstripe) are quite in demand, may be pricy. maybe a lemonblast or pastave?

EDIT: when i say lesser i also mean butter, i keep mixing them up and default to lesser sometimes.

Well this pastel butter male is 325g and 3-4 months old. I guess he may not be ready to breed until next year. Maybe this year but it might be close.

He would match up well with both of my females.

I plan on picking up a dragonfly (pastel fire pinstripe) for my butter, Mojave, and normal girl. And honestly the butter girl is my most "excited for"!!

I love my butter female. I have wanted a lesser or butter before I got my first bp. It isn't the craziest morph but I still love it to death. BELs are next and it is a happy accident BEL is the super form.

Well I am pulling the trigger on this male in the pic above. I love his color and the fact that I can possibly make a super pastel butter and a BEL if he goes to both my girls.

Keep any other thoughts coming. I would still love to hear other peoples favourite butter morphs. Even if it's more than two genes.
