Does anyone have a picture of what a mite looks like?
I keep my bp on reptibark and just found out that that and coconut shells etc harbors mites and ticks.
I recently put new bark in my bp's new cage and I am concerned.
I know in his old cage he didn't have mites per the Vet.
I soaked him tonight for about 15 mins and there was some small/tiny little triangle and such shapes of black/red in the water. Like about 3-5 but it looks like dust from the reptibark ( not to mention my old a** can't see so good anymore)
So I was trying to see if I could get a pic of one.
    Thanks

Ever seen chiggers? The little red bugs? If so, picture it black and that's what an adult mite looks like (ya know, without a microscope or anything), with the juvies being smaller and a grey-brown color.

    Thanks Smulkin for the links.
Sorry Marla I have never seen a chigger.
From reading the link I should be able to make them out as a bug w/ the naked eye.
So far the few dot's i 've seen appear to be reptibark flakes ( lets hope)'
He hasn't soaked himself and I soaked him last night and once he drank the water he was ready to come out.
