    Welcome to the Bite Club.
Rule number 1: always show pictures of the bite.

The culprit today was Primrose, an '09 het hypo female (Produced by Sanscera) who is clearly slamming rats (or hands in this case) as she gears up for the upcoming season. After all, she needs to get a nice figure for her YB het hypo boyfriend, Bane. The story behind this makes me feel like a martyr. I was feeding the ball pythons tonight and several have had their faces at the front of the tubs eagerly awaiting their meals. I've never had an issue with feeders, so I didn't think much of it. I opened her tub, placed the rat calmly in her tub and before I knew it, she was flying out of the tub at me. I jumped back (before she tagged me) and waited for her to smell the rat in her tub and calmly go find her meal who was curled up on the hot side. However, my 15 yr old mostly deaf and mostly blind dachshund decided to help me feed. He came into the room and walked right past the rack. Primrose saw the movement and immediately began to stalk my dog. I was NOT about to let my dog get attacked for fear of not only him getting hurt but Prim as well (this dog will bite back if you touch him wrong because he has pretty bad arthritis). So I grab my feeding tongs to try and lift her out of the tub and reposition her so she'll not try to bite my dog. Well...she whipped around and got me. Good. And what is the first thing I do? Grab the camera :rolleye2:

I'm really glad it was me and not the dog. Not only because I didn't want either to get hurt, but because I feel like I've just been initiated into the bite club. I've been bitten before...but never had one draw blood. This was the first bite from an adult ball as well as the first one that drew blood. Enjoy the pictures. :)

Here is Prim wrapped up around me and the feeding tongs

Here is the blood after I finally removed her. That was a funny story on it's own because I'm right handed and she had my right hand in her mouth. So with my left hand, I had to open a bottle of rubbing alcohol, remove the seal, recap it, and then try to get her to let go. Oh yeah...I was home by myself.

Here is immediately after I washed off the blood and dried my hand:

And finally, this is about 2 hours post injury. I think it looks rather sexy. And there is the photobombing beardie in the background. She is a rescue from Petsmart. I have a friend who works there and she brought home this beardie because it had a severe prolapse. She got it healed and gave her to me as a pretty pet. :D

I wouldn't know...I don't have any tattoos! It really wasn't that bad. Stung a little...but no biggie. I sent the picture of my bloody hand to my mother to freak her out. It worked. She was not amused.

This girl is just shy of 1600g. My mom thought I needed stitches and a tetanus shot. ( which I'm current in anyway because I'm in nursing school and have to stay up to date on shots). She called to see if I had the bleeding stopped and if I could see the wound. I then sent her the cleaned up picture . I got another phone call and she gave me an ear full about how I shouldn't scare my mother like that. The opportunity was too good to pass up!

Oh man! I totally know how you feel! I don't have any photos, but I think my worse bite came from my Rosy Boa male. I had to pull teeth out of my finger with tweezers from him. He tastes first, then loves you later.

The scars of our love! :D

LOL!!! wow.. Sadly though when we lived with my mother my 1000 gram male tagged me and she freaked out... The most hilarious one was when my 6 foot burm tagged me and coiled. My mother freaked out screaming and yelling like our house was on fire..

First and only bite from a large python, plan to keep it that was for as long as possible to. ;)

A few Years ago I owned a 15 ft Albino Burmese my first snake. I had just fed her and was preparing to put her in a separate enclosure to clean the other. She went around my arm brushed under my armpit and tickled me I jumped a bit and she tagged me on the back of my arm. She didn't wrap or anything just stayed on there for 5 mins didn't want to release. It didnt hurt it just bled for a long time plus took a while to heal she kinda shredded my skin. Sadly she died from a tumor at the age of 5. :tears:
