They make their own? Or are you asking the ones they sell?

They're a reseller, as far as I understand.

I assume it's the one they manufacture.

    So it is! Haha.

It's a rheostat not a thermostat, and won't fluctuate with the room temperature.

better off spending the extra $75 and getting a herpstat which has proven success

Fair enough, it is a thermostat. It's on/off which isn't as good as proportional. Which means, to me, that it's going to have a certain degree of sway (a +/- of as little as 1 to as many as 4) from the temp you have it set too.

It's cheap, and that's the key. Sure, you can save a little money, but it will eventually wear out and it looks poorly constructed.

I recommend herpstats, they have more safety features and are proportional (pulsing electricity to the heating element to maintain the temp desired). My herpstat right now is accurate to within 0.02 degrees of my set temps I want in my tubs.

    Pros: it's grounded...at least.

    Cons: made of cheap plastic
Has a rotary dial to set temp (seems cheaply constructed from pictures)
I'm not sure of a warranty?

It looks like a supped up hydrofarm farm, and those have a large +/- 5 degree sway. Goes five or so over your set temp, drops 5 or so below then kicks back on.

You can use a rheostat if you have stable ambient temperatures.

So if you're room is always 80, and the tank is always 80, you can make the rheostat stay set to 90.

If your room switches temps, the rheostat will stay at the temperature you set it.
